Hypnotherapy is an incredibly successful way of treating a host of emotional, psychological and habitual problems - without the use of medication or side-effects. The state of hypnosis allows direct access to our unconscious whilst being completely relaxed. In this state, positive and beneficial suggestions can be
delivered directly to the unconcious mind which
promotes rapid and long lasting change. The aim
of Hypnotherapy is to assist clients in finding
meaningful alternatives to their present
unsatisfactory ways of thinking, feeling or
behaviour.
When you hear the word hypnosis, you may picture
the mysterious hypnotist figure popularized in
movies, comic books and television. This ominous,
goateed man waves a pocket watch back and
forth, guiding his subject into a semi-sleep,
zombie-like state. Once hypnotized, the subject is
compelled to obey, no matter how strange or
immoral the request. Muttering "Yes, master,"
the subject does the hypnotist's evil bidding.
This popular representation bears little resemblance to actual hypnotism. In fact, modern understanding of hypnosis contradicts this conception on several key points. Subjects in a hypnotic trance are not slaves to their "masters" -- they have absolute free will. And they're not really in a semi-sleep state -- they're actually hyperattentive.
"Hypnosis really changes your mind. It is more than just a party trick, it measurably changes how the brain works. Clinical trials of therapeutic hypnosis are starting to confirm its potential benefits."
New Scientist
Absolutely! Hypnotherapy is a completely safe and natural way to treat problems with no harmful side effects. In fact, in 1955 the British Medical Association approved hypnosis as a valid medical treatment.
You won’t. No matter how relaxed you are, it is important for you to know that you
remain in control at all times and you can stop and come out of hypnosis whenever you wish. If something happened to the therapist while you were in hypnosis you would naturally drift out of hypnosis on your own.
This can vary depending on the issue and how well you respond to hypnotherapy. As a general guide, most issues will take between 3 - 5 sessions for lasting positive changes to be made. I do my very best to help you to resolve your problem and achieve your aim as quickly as possible.
The Hypno-Band Weight Loss system lasts four sessions.
The Mind Solutions Stop Smoking programme generally takes just one session!
No. You are completely in control at all times. Your sensibilities are fully intact and you would automatically reject any suggestion that was inconsistent with your personal values and beliefs. Hypnosis is not something I do TO you but something that you and only you can change. My role is to HELP guide you and to make the change that you have chosen to do. You can easily resist any suggestion at any time, you will only respond to those suggestions that you find helpful in achieving the results you desire. Your subconscious will not let you do anything you don’t want to do. Stage hypnotists cannot make you do anything against your will, and I am there to help you overcome your issues.
