At Mind Solutions Hypnotherapy in Oxford, each Pain Management Hypnotherapy session is tailored to suit you as an individual. Most clients benefit from 3-6 sessions to obtain a good level of relief but this can vary for each individual.

*It is important to note that I do not use hypnosis to treat pain unless the cause of that pain has been diagnosed by a medical practitioner who has then given permission for hypnosis use.*

Pain Management Hypnotherapy

Are you in constant pain?  Does it seem to be taking over your life so you can't think about anything else?

Pain and chronic pain can have a huge impact on our relationships, work, family and our overall quality of life.  As well as experiencing pain, you may also feel angry, depressed, sad, lonely, anxious and worried. Whether you are looking for relief from chronic or acute pain, visiting the dentist or are about to have an operation, hypnosis can help you reduce and in many cases totally alleviate the pain.

Pain. Man

Pain is necessary and important because without it we would not know if we were injured or sick. Pain exists to warn you that something is wrong, that something needs your attention. It alerts you very quickly to situations that could potentially be very harmful to you, such as touching something hot. It also reminds us when we have an existing injury, to take care and not do anything which may make the injury worse. The real problem occurs when we continue experiencing chronic pain long after the body has healed, but the feeling of the pain remains, causing further distress.

Hypnosis can provide chronic pain relief by relaxing the body and by altering one’s perception of pain.  Have you ever cut yourself without realising it until some time later? And it was only when you actually noticed the cut that it started to feel painful. Up until that moment, your mind had successfully ignored the pain signals from your body. This is actually something that we are all naturally able to do.

Pain is the bodies natural warning signal

Why choose clinical hypnosis?

A recent study showed that hypnosis can reduce TMJ pain levels by 50% or more versus a control group that were given simple relaxation techniques.
