Supervision For Therapists

Supervision is a confidential working relationship between a Supervisor and Supervisee and is usually a requirement of the therapist's Professional Body.

Regular access to Supervision provides

support in professional practice.

The Supervisor can help the Supervisee to explore issues within their work with clients,

give guidance and support on ethical issues, identify any further training needs, focus on

best outcomes for clients etc.

The primary aim of Supervision is to protect the best interests of the client whilst providing the Supervisee with confidential and supportive 'space' to explore and evaluate their own working practice.

Newly qualified GHR Registrants are expected to engage in the beneficial process of Supervision for a minimum of 2 hours in any 3-month period during their first 2 years of practice. Thereafter, although ongoing Supervision is encouraged, it becomes a voluntary process. Registrants are advised to maintain a personal log of all such activity as they may be asked to provide suitable evidence of the previous 12 months supervision at the time of their annual re-registration.

I am a registered GHR Acknowledged Supervisor who offers one-to-one and group supervision for hypnotherapists. I follow the GHR Supervision and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines.

What is Supervision?

As a GHR supervisor I can provide and offer guidance with:

Developing your practice

Enhancing effective work with clients

A supportive and empathic setting for you to discuss your client work

Provide an impartial perspective

Developing your professional skills

Helping you to maintain ethical boundaries

I offer 'face to face' supervision, telephone supervision and internet supervision (via skype). The frequency of your supervision will largely be determined by the requirements of your governing body.

*Please check with your governing body that our supervision is recognised by them before applying.*
